At ard noon yest, marked de start of de Subaru put-ur-hand-on-de-car competiton. I serious shit can't recall what that event is called. De aim of the event is to be de last person standing, with their hand on de car, and in so doing, winning de car.

While I admire de competitors' determination in wanting to win de car, I can't help feeling they are but just pawns in Subaru's game of chess, in their marketing n promo blitz. I may be wrong here, but I guess all those who are taking part, CAN'T afford to BUY de car. So they wanna WIN it instead.

Come on lah.. If u can't afford to BUY de car, do u think u can afford to OWN it? And by own, I mean as in having to constantly top up petrol, maintenance, COE, road tax, parking, and all other technicalities associated with owning a car. If u can't afford to buy it, do u think that by just winning de car, u can suddenly afford it?

Sure u may have de support of ur family of frens in it, but isn't de time spent putting ur hand on de car be better spent enjoying their company instead? What's better than being with frens n loved ones, right?

I guess those who CAN afford to BUY de car, WOULDN'T be doing such things just a for car. For one thing, in de future, if I do intend to get a car, I'd be getting one that I know I can afford to own, as opposed to being a pawn..
